We have all felt stuck at some point in our lives. Perhaps you feel stuck right now. When that happens, it can feel impossible to keep moving forward toward your goals and dreams Anxiety are Fear can be paralyzing. I know that there have been many times when I have experienced anxiety that has stopped me in my tracks, and I have felt that it was physically impossible to move forward. There have been goals that I have tried to accomplish in life that I've put off simply because I felt paralyzed. I was scared I was going to fail.
You change nothing and expect different results.
There’s a saying that the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If you want to improve yourself, you have to try new things to see what works and what doesn’t. If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting. Often the difference between a successful person and a person who struggles to implement positive changes is not one’s superior abilities, but the courage that one has to bet on one’s ideas, take calculated risks and take steady steps forward. In other words, some people sit and wait for the magic beans to arrive while the rest of us just get up and get to work.
Perfection.
Perfection does not exist. If you accept that everything can be improved upon then perfection cannot exist. Give up the concept of being perfect and get on with your life as best you can. If you believe that you need the perfect circumstances to make a change, you are not setting yourself up for long-term success.
You refuse to take responsibility.
Not every event in your life is your fault, but they are all your responsibility. A combination of your decisions and external factors for which you had no control brought you to where you are in the world today. Negatively blaming someone else, or some other past circumstance will change nothing. Positively taking full responsibility for your situation and your path forward can change everything. Leave the unchangeable past behind you as you diligently give yourself to the present moment. At this moment is every possibility you seek. Take responsibility for it, and bring these possibilities to life
Waiting for the right time.
The right time is now, why put it off? If you've been waiting for the right time for something and haven't taken action yet, it's going to be difficult to start. If we wait until we’re ready, we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives. The “just right time” is never going to arrive. There is always going to be something on your calendar or not enough money or bad weather in the forecast.
I have to start moving.
a strategy that I teach myself, is to break down tasks into smaller, manageable pieces. Breaking down a task into smaller pieces can make it seem less daunting, and it can keep you focused on each piece as you work on it. This can help you stay in the moment rather than letting your mind dwell on all of the possibilities. It’s hard to move forward until you fully understand why you are stuck. You have to get specific and identify what’s really going on. After you identify the issue and what’s the best way to fix it then you can start moving forward again. Just remember slow progress is better than no progress!!
